The East Dallas County Democrats are a group of progressive activists from Mesquite, Garland, Balch Springs, Sunnyvale, Wylie, Sachse, Seagoville, and South/East Dallas. With roots dating back to the 1970's, East Dallas County Democrats is one of the longest-running Democratic clubs in Dallas County. Formerly known as Dallas County East Democrats or DACED, our club has taken an active role in our local, state, and national government to be a voice and vehicle for the democratic party for over 50 years. We have over 50 members who have promised to engage, inspire, and build on Democratic values within our local community.
Our mission is to create more just, inclusive, sustainable, and represented neighborhoods. We’re committed to providing direct assistance and creating a local environment of diversity, respect, collaboration to foster progressive actions towards accountable governance and universal rights.
Our purpose is to empower the residents of East Dallas County with the tools, support, and voices to create change that lives up to our values. We engage new audiences, inspire others to take an active roles in politics, and build new leaders to carry out our vision. We support local campaigns and Democratic candidates, education, advocacy, and direct action in our local community.
The East Dallas County Democrats are a community dedicated to the progress of Democratic values honoring the past of hard-fought human rights. We believe human rights, including healthcare, fair wages, and access to voting, extend to all people regardless of their citizenship, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or ability status.
Our vision is of a county that is fair, just, and inclusive for all. We hope for all to be engaged and respected in the political process that affects their daily lives. We continue our commitment towards transparency, representation, and thoughtful human-based solutions in our local government.
